Golf Courses - Bunker turf

We supply bunker turf for the following uses: revetting, lining the base, and turfing the sides.

1. Revetting turf

Our revetting turf comes in slabs 40mm thick. Each slab measures 1.2m(40”) by 0.6m(24”). You can cut the slab lengthways into two, three, or four strips depending on the width you require. So, for example, you can get four 15cm wide strips from each slab, or three 20cm wide strips.

Each pallet of turf holds 20 slabs. Cut lengthways into four 15cm strips, the total linear length of turf per pallet is 96m.

The turf is exceptionally strong and dense, and will last for many years in the bunker face.

2. Lining turf

Our lining turf is laid upside down in the base of the bunker as a barrier to prevent stones and dirty soil coming up into the sand.

3. Bunker sides

You could hardly have a more hostile environment for turf than bunker sides. Drought and sand splash are the main problems. In this situation we have had great results with RTF turf. RTF is very drought tolerant, partly due to its ability to root down to 1.5m! It also has a stiff leaf which absorbs sand well without being smothered.
