All our turf for fairways is grown on a very sandy, free-draining topsoil containing low levels of silt and clay.
1. Fairway turf with ryegrass
Our Arena turf for fairways is a mixture of ryegrass, fescue and smoothstalked meadowgrass. It's designed to be dense and very hard wearing.
The typical seed mixture for Arena is:
- 15% Greenway dwarf amenity ryegrass - Lolium perenne
- 15% Greenfair dwarf amenity ryegrass - Lolium perenne
- 20% Broadway smoothstalked meadowgrass - Poa pratensis
- 30% Helena slender creeping red fescue - Festuca rubra litoralis
- 20% Calliope chewings fescue - Festuca rubra commutata
2. Fairway turf without ryegrass
There are two options here – 100% Fescue or Fescue/Bent

- 70% Barcrown slender creeping red fescue - Festuca rubra litoralis
- 30% Bargreen chewings fescue - Festuca rubra commutata

- 25% Heriot browntop bent - Agrostis capillaris
- 25% BarKing browntop bent - Agrostis capillaris
- 25% Barcrown slender creeping red fescue - Festuca rubra litoralis
- 25% Bargreen chewings fescue - Festuca rubra commutata
