Customer Service & Logistics Coordinator


Tillers Turf is a leading grower of cultivated turf based just outside of Lincoln, servicing Landscape, Golf and Sports customers throughout the UK and Europe. We are looking to appoint a customer orders and logistics coordinator to join our team just outside Lincoln. This is a great opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic and willing to succeed in a busy office environment. Our offices are beautifully located on a farm looking over fields of our class leading grass products.

Helpful Experience

  • Customer Service experience.
  • Pallet/Haulage network experience.
  • Managing customer expectations.
  • Working as a team.
  • Experience in Xero / Sage.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

The Role

  • Dealing with telephone customer sales enquiries.
  • Prepare customer quotations.
  • Input customer orders.
  • Track deliveries and communicate with haulage companies and couriers.
  • Raise sales invoices and take electronic payments.
  • General office duties

The Candidate

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • A passion for providing excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task.
  • Managing time and prioritising work to meet deadlines.
  • An excellent telephone manner with the ability to build relationships.
  • Monday to Friday 08:30 - 17:00.
  • 20 days holiday plus bank holidays.
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Salary: £24-27k per year

Groundsperson

Grown on our 2400-acre farm in Lincolnshire by a highly qualified, passionate, and dedicated team, our products are used at some of the UK’s most prestigious sporting venues and locations. Tillers Turf are proud to work alongside, and support their needs as the country’s leading sports, landscape, and wildflower turf supplier.

Nature and scope

The HT Pro Operative will report to the Specialist Turf Manager ,and assist with the co-ordination and management of our HT Pro product to the highest of professional standards.

Accountabilities:

General –

  • Setting up and use of all specialist turf related equipment
  • Day to day management and maintenance of all HT Pro products
  • Monitoring and reporting of all pests, weeds & diseases
  • Brushing & dew removal
  • Daily mowing and surface grooming
  • Clipping collection and hoovering
  • Use of all specialist mowers and tractors
  • Sand spreading
  • Seeding
  • Fertilising
  • Poa Annua control by hand picking
  • Machinery maintenance
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Undertake such other duties as designated by your line manager to ensure the smooth operational running of the business

Person Specification

  • Experience in a similar role with a proven track record of working on and maintaining professional playing surfaces, ideally Hybrid reinforced pitches
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and forward thinking
  • Have a positive, can-do attitude and work well within a team
  • Able to multitask
  • Willingness to undertake regular overtime as necessary to meet the needs of the business
  • Experience in the use of industry leading technology, machinery, irrigation, and sports turf management
  • Must have a willingness to learn new skills, be self-motivated and able to think of creative solutions to problems

Qualifications, skills & experience:

  • Minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent sports turf qualification
  • Minimum 2 years grounds or greenkeeping experience
  • Able to safely operate a wide range of specialist machinery
  • Good time management and communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team but who can work under their own initiative
  • PA 1, 2 & 6 Spraying Certificates (Desirable but not essential)
  • Chainsaw Certificates (Desirable but not essential)
  • First Aid (Desirable but not essential)
  • Mechanical knowledge (Desirable but not essential)
