Meet the team who work tirelessly to produce our high quality Golf, Landscape and Wildflower Turf and provide exceptional customer service throughout the UK and Europe.
With extensive experience in the sports turf industry, Simon’s businesses encompass turf production, golf course and sports pitch construction, specialist earthworks and shaping and groundcare machinery sales. Leading by example, he’s hard working, motivated and his hands-on nature and enthusiasm helps to drive our unique and innovative approach to turf production. With a friendly and approachable manner he sets high customer service standards from initial quotation to after sales care.
Focused, driven and with a broad skill set, Joe oversees the production, harvest and logistical operations at Tillers. In addition, he manages the procurement of seed and machinery, our compliance with land management legislation and maintains our irrigation infrastructure. His upbringing in a family business, a degree in Rural Enterprise and Land Management and hands-on experience in the sports turf construction industry have provided Joe with a wealth of knowledge for his role at Tillers.
During his 20 years at Tillers, Alan has amassed an extensive knowledge of our farm land. Vastly experienced, he organises seed bed preparation, chemical and fertiliser applications, mowing, irrigation and still finds time for daily field checks. Away from turf production he enjoys spending time with his wife, two sons and grandchildren.
Specialist Turf Manager
Ant manages our specialist golf products from initial sowing to quality control of harvest. Hard working and extremely motivated, he leads a dedicated greens team who ensure our golf products are produced to the highest standard. He also has two impressive awards to his name, Operation Pollinator 2015 and Conservation Greenkeeper of the Year 2016. Work life is busy but he still finds time for his three daughters and wife Sarah.
Over the last 10 years Gary has progressed from hand stacking turf to become our harvest manager. Each day, his experience enables him to seamlessly coordinate the harvest and loading of turf orders from our large product range across multiple locations and fields. Away from work, Gary enjoys beach walks with his family and dog.
Customer Service and Sales Manager
Rachel manages our sales office and with a deep understanding of our product range she is responsible for providing a first-class service to our UK and European customers. Utilising her vast logistics experience she ensures our overseas orders are delivered on time and in the best possible condition. An animal lover, she enjoys spending time walking her dogs Pablo and Bella.
Orders and Logistics Administrator
Jenny, part of the busy sales team at Tillers, takes phone enquiries, provides quotations and processes orders. As the day progresses she carefully plans our domestic haulage to ensure your turf is delivered on time. Another animal lover, she brings her two dogs Lulu and Bramble to work each day and is a keen equestrian, owning a horse called Caramel.
Golf and Technical Manager
Richard joined us after 20 years as Course Manager at Boston West Golf Club and with over 30 years experience in the golf and turf industry he is well placed to offer advice and technical support for our highly specialised golf and wildflower turf products. He’s passionate about biodiversity on the golf course and is a former Conservation Greenkeeper of the Year and winner of the Lincolnshire Environmental Award. In his spare time he’s an RSPB volunteer and educates school children about nature and the environment.
Depot Manager, Bagshot
Craig manages our Bagshot depot and provides an outstanding service to his landscape and domestic customers. Following his time in the army he spent a number of years managing the grounds of a large private estate in Surrey. His spare time is spent with his wife and two children, often clambering over toys strewn around the house.
Production and Account Administrator
Maria’s part time week is filled very quickly as she assists in our accounts department and manages the administration associated with our turf production operation. Born in Sweden, Maria has lived in the UK for many years and enjoys the weekends with her husband, twin girls and son. When the opportunity does arise, she’s keen to get away and hit the slopes for a skiing break.
